AAPB Education Programme

Over several years, AAPB has performed a variety of BAS assessments with accountants, bookkeepers and business owners. The results have identified a serious gap in BAS knowledge and business management that could potentially put consumers at risk.

The results of the assessments led to AAPB forming a partnership with Atax (UNSW) and TSE Professional Training to design and develop a unique, customised, online and classroom education programme that would fill in the education gaps.

Recognising the time constraints associated with learning, we have designed a programme around our Members other commitments (family, holidays, friends etc) that would normally get lost when trying to study.  The AAPB education programme has been carefully built with three components to help balance our members learning time:

1.  Online Learning
The online learning comprises of 80% of the course.  It provides Members with the ability to learn at their own pace, from the comfort of their home, on GST, PAYG, FBT, Fuel Tax and WET legislation, business and quality management. The online learning incorporates fun activities which breakdown the complexities within our industry; making it interesting, interactive and innovative.

2.  Classroom Learning
The classroom provides the remaining 20% learning activities. Members have the opportunity to practice networking, communication and brainstorming complex BAS requirements at the local Training Centre Alliance Partner.

3.  AAPB Skills Assessment
The AAPB skills assessment provides AAPB Members with a unique opportunity of obtaining Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) towards the Certificate IV in Financial Services Bookkeeping. The skills assessment comprises of four separate tasks that have been custom designed to meet the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 Regime. Each task takes a full day to complete at our local Training Centre Alliance Partner. It is a comprehensive assessment focussed on GST, PAYG, FBT, Fuel Tax and WET legislation, business and quality management.

Through AAPB's education alliance partners (TSE Professional Training and Training Centre Alliance Partners) we are able to offer AAPB Members the course throughout Australia.  For more information, contact AAPB.
